Inside a research brief

A format guide to the deliverable. The question and scope determine the content of each commissioned brief.

01 - Question & search boundaries

Define the question, intended use, search terms, source types and dates considered. Explain what sits outside the agreed scope.

02 - Evidence & method comparison

Compare selected publications by study design, measurements, findings and context. Link statements to their source publications.

03 - Limitations & unresolved questions

Record relevant sources of uncertainty, disagreements and evidence gaps. Keep interpretation separate from what a source directly reports.

04 - References & further reading

Provide publication titles, authors, dates and stable source links where available, so the team can examine the original work.
